Made for

When one phone isn't loud enough.

Rooftop and terrace

Spread the phones around and fill the space with sound, no speaker needed.

Friends' night in

Everyone adds songs from their own phone. The whole room follows.

Birthdays and surprises

Start the birthday song on every phone at the exact same second.

Picnics and road trips

Phones in different cars or corners, one song, perfectly together.

For the best sound

Three small tips.

Same Wi-Fi

Phones on the same Wi-Fi stay closest together. Mobile data works too.

Volume up

Turn every phone to full volume and keep the screen on while you listen.

One tap to start

On Android or a computer, tap "Play on this phone". On an iPhone, tap the video itself once: iPhones only turn on the sound that way. After that, it follows the room.

Spread them out

A few steps between phones sounds fuller than stacking them together.

SyncPlay questions

What is SyncPlay?

A room where everyone's phone plays the same song at the same moment. Put the phones around the room or the roof and together they sound like one big speaker. Play, pause and seek change on every phone.

Which links work?

YouTube and YouTube Music links: youtube.com/watch, youtu.be, Shorts and music.youtube.com. A few songs can only be played on YouTube itself; for those, pick another link.

How many phones can join?

Up to 5 phones in a room for now. Friends scan the QR code or open the invite link, no app or account needed.

How close is the sync?

Every phone follows the same clock and corrects itself many times a second, usually within a fraction of a second on good Wi-Fi. On a slow network a phone may need a moment to catch up after you skip.

Why does a phone ask me to tap play?

Phones only allow a website to play sound after you tap. On Android or a computer, tap "Play on this phone" once. On an iPhone, tap the video itself once: iPhones only turn on the sound for a tap right on the video. From then on that phone follows the room by itself, song after song.

Can DiffWeb see what we play?

No. The song link is end-to-end encrypted in the room, so our servers only see play, pause and the time. YouTube itself does see what each phone plays, just like when you use YouTube.

Is it free?

Yes. SyncPlay rooms are free and need no sign-up. They delete themselves at the time you choose.
